スペイン一人旅2014'冬①(Traveling to Barcelona, Spain)

【1月3日】(On January 3th.)

午前3時45分ごろ、フランクフルトの自宅からスーツケースをガラガラと引きずるIBOです。

さすがに、朝4時は外は真っ暗で車もほとんど走っておりません。残念なことに最寄りの地下鉄がまだ動いてなかったので、１５分ほど歩いてハウプトバッへ駅（少し大きめの駅）まで行きました。
(Around 3:45am, IBO left her home and was drugging her brown suitcase to get to the nearest station. It was really dark outside  in Frankfurt and there was even no car coming on the street. Unfortunately, the nearest station wasn't operating any subways at that time, so I decided to walk 15min more to take a train from Hauptwach station, which is a little bigger station.)

午前７時１０分のフライトなので2時間前には空港へ着いておりました。ルフトハンザ便はフランクフルト国際空港から非常に沢山でており、チェックインしてセキュリティチェックをした後出発ゲートにたどり着くまで結構歩きました。

(Since the departure time was at 7:10am, I had already been at the airport around 5am、1.5 hours before the boarding time. After having completed the self-service check in @kiosk and done with all other departing procedures, I found that the boarding gate was quite far and took me a while until I could sat down on the chair near the gate.) 

空港内のレストランは全部閉まっていました。なので、コーヒースタンドでカフェラテとチョコレートマフィンを買って早めの朝食です。正直、前の日は興奮し過ぎて眠れませんでした。笑 今回は往復航空券が約100ユーロで、これよりももっと安いのがライアンエアー（格安航空会社）です。でも自宅からもっと離れた空港から乗るため、バス代金を考えるとルフトハンザを利用する方がずっと安いと思いました。

(Since all the restaurants were closed at the airport, I got a cup of cafe latte & a chocolate muffin @ a small coffee stand. They were my small breakfast. At this time, I thought I should eat something to put myself on sleep in the airplane. Honestly, I was too excited to sleep last night lol.　This time, the round trip from Frankfurt to Barcelona was around 100 Euro. I know there is one low cost airline company called "Ryan Air" but I have to take a long distance bus to get to  another International Airport. Considering the cost of the bus & time, Lufthansa was much cheaper and convenient for my trip. )

目が覚めるとバルセロナの上空でした。町が茶色くて、景色はドイツと全く違っていました。飛行機が着陸する時に見える景色が大好きです。いつも宇宙船に乗って違う星に来た気分で眺めています。

(As soon as I woke up after the announcement about landing, I found myself above the city of Barcelona. The color of the towns was so brown and the view was very different from Germany. Whenever the airplane is landing on the destination, I feel really excited as an astronaut visits another planet of the Universe.)

さて、バルセロナ空港から市街地のサンツ駅(Sants Estacion)まで行ってまいります。片道の切符が４．１０ユーロでした。

(Now, I am heading to Sants station from the airport. One way cost me 4.1Euro.)

午前１１時３０分、サンツ駅へ到着しました。友達との待ち合わせの時間が13時30分だったので、荷物をConsignaに預けて、町の散策へ出かけることにしました。

(Around 11:30am, I finally got to Sants station by train. As I had time until meeting up with my friend at 13:30pm, I left my luggage in Consigna and started to explore the city on my own.)

まずは、１ユーロのバルセロナ・マップを駅で購入して、大きな茄子の乗ったパンを食べながら、どこへ行こうかと考えていました。スペイン語で人に話しかけられたりするなんて何年ぶりだろうか。大学時代にスペイン語のクラスメートのほとんどがメキシコ人だった時の良き思い出が少し心の中をよぎりました。

(First, I bought a map of Barcelona and was thinking about where to visit while eating a baked eggplant-bread with a bottle of water. It has been a while since I spoke with a waiter in my little Spanish. The memory of the good time when I was studying Spanish with Mexican students crossed my mind a little.)

驚いたことに、バルセロナ市内には沢山Wifiが飛んでいるので、カフェに入らなくても携帯でネットが使える場合が沢山あります。ちょうどサントス駅で友人からメールが来て、カタルンヤ駅周辺の散歩を勧められ行ってみることにしました。

(Surprisingly, there are a lot of wifi connections in the city of Barcelona. Even though you don't have a cup of coffee at a Cafe with wifi, you may be able to connect your mobile to the Internet. As soon as I got to Sants station, my friend sent me a message, telling me to try to visit Catalunya station and walk along the Rambla street.)

お天気で、絶好の町散策日和でした。人も沢山いて、賑わっておりましたよ。歩いていると新しくできたばかりのマーケットを発見。ボケリア・マーケットです。フルーツジュースが凄く美味しいです。

(The weather was so beautiful and it was such a great day to walk around the city. While exploring the Rambla street, I encountered with the new market called "La Boqueria Market". The fresh fruits smoothie tastes really good at the market.)

今夜は昼食を友人と食べて、夕方にはモンティジック城に日の入りの太陽を見に行きました。お友達は大学で旅行学を専攻していた為、この場所の歴史やカタロニアの国旗の意味などを説明してくれました。夜は友人が作ってくれた、えびのガーリック和えとムール貝を頂きました。

(Today, I had lunch with my Spanish friend whom I met in Tokyo, and is hosting for my 6-day stay in Barcelona. After that, we took a bus to see the sunset at Montjuic Castle, which is the old military fortress in Barcelona. Since my friend studied tourism in University, she explained the history of Catalonia flag and some background of this Castle. At night, she cooked me some garlic-flavored shrimps and mussels. I think today was a great start of my adventure!)

ロンドンのハリーポッタースタジオ2013'冬（Harry Potter Studio in London)

実は中学生の頃からハリーポッター大ファンだったアイボです。原作も映画もほとんど見ました。そこで、2012年の3月にオープンしたばかりのワーナーブラザーズ・スタジオに旦那と足を運びました。ロンドン市内から鉄道に揺られて、ワットフォード・ジャンクション駅 (Wattford Junction Station)まで行くと、専用の二階建てバスに乗り２０分くらいでスタジオに到着します。
(In fact, IBO has been one of the biggest fans of Harry Potter since junior high school. I've read the books and watched almost all the films of H.P. This Warner Brothers Studio has just opened on March, 2012 then my husband and I planned to visit here just out of curiosity. From the center of London, you can take a train towards Wattford Junction station, then change to the 2-story bus which goes only to the Harry Potter studio. It should take about 20min from W.J station.)

(At the entrance, you will see all the profile pictures of main characters in H.P films.)

人間の想像力とは素晴しいですね。生活保護を受けながら必死でJ.Kローリングざんが書いた作品は今や子供達をテレビから読書の世界のとりこにさせました。

(It is amazing that what human`s imagination can do for children`s stories. I love Harry Potter because a lot of children suddenly became more interested in reading books than watching TV shows. Also, I admire J.K Rolling for concentrating on writing up one story under her poor life condition.)

入場すると映画館の座席に座り、ハリーポッター、ロン、ハーマイオ二ーの三人組を演じる役者さん達の挨拶を映像でみます。その後、スクリーンが自動的に上にあげられ、その後ろにはホグワーツ魔法魔術学校のドアが隠されていたのです。物語を知っている人にとっては興奮してしまいます。係りの人が、“誕生日の人はいますか？”と聞くと、一人の男の子が手を上げてドアを開けました。

(Once you pass the real entrance to the studio, a lady asks you to have a seat in a movie theater. First, everyone has to watch the short documentary film of the main 3 kids from the Harry Potter movie. After having watched the film, the screen suddenly went up towards the ceiling and we saw the big entrance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The lady asked, "Whose birthday is today?"A boy answered "it`s my birthday "then he got the right to open the door.)

ドアを開けると、あの有名な大食堂が目の前に現れました！

(When you open the door, you will see that famous dining room from the H.P story.)

午後から入場しても、全て見るのに最低３～４時間はかかります。最後に魔法の箒にのって空を飛べる体験ができます。私も旦那に進められてCG合成の箒飛行を楽しみました。一つ言えることは、物語の内容を知らないとディズニーランドへ家族に連れてこられたお父さん状態になるので、訪問予定の方は事前に映画か本を読んでおくことをお勧めします。

(I think it will take about 3-4 hours to see everything in this studio. At the end of exhibition, you can experience to fly with the broomstick. As my husband encouraged me to try, we have a DVD of my flying like a Harry Potter because they added some CG images in my movie. Overall, it is such a great experience for those big harry potter fans, but it can be so boring if you haven`t read any of the stories. If your friends or families invite to you come together for this tour, please read the books/watch the films to fully enjoy this place.)

ロンドン（ストラットフォード）でクリスマス2013'冬(Christmas in Stratford, London)

2013年のクリスマスはストラットフォード(ロンドン）で過ごすことにしました。天気は相変わらず雨時々晴れ又は曇り（気分屋さん笑）ですが、バスの二階から見える街並みは新鮮で面白かったです。

My husband and I decided to travel to Stratford, London for our 2013 Christmas vacation. The weather was pretty moody in London as everyone knows, whereas the view from the large windows of the 2 story-bus was very new and interesting.

ストラットフォードは２０１２年のロンドン夏オリンピックやパラリンピックが開催された町です。今でもオリンピック・パークや新しく建てられたホテルが沢山並んでいます。私たちのホステル（格安ホテル）をここに決めたのも、市街地と比べると３分の１の値段で泊まることができるからです。

Stratford is a middle-sized town in East London, and also famous for the 2012 Olympic & Paralympic game. Even now, there are a Olympic park and hotels which recently have been built for Olympic visitors. We liked alot in Stratford because the price of our stay was 1/3 of the regular hotels in London.

旦那さんは激務後の旅行だった為、クリスマスの朝はゆっくり寝ていました。ロンドンは２４日の夜９時から２６日の朝まで全ての公共交通機関がストップします。なので２５日はストラットフォードの町歩きをし、久しぶりにノンビリと朝食（イングリッシュ・ブレックファースト）を頂くことにしました。

As my husband was extremely exhausted after the hardest period of work, we were kind of being relaxed in the morning on the Christmas Day. In London, there was no running public transport from 9pm on the 24th until the morning of the 26th, Boxing Day. Thus, we took our time, just walking around the city of Stratford and enjoyed English breakfast on the 25th.

今夜(クリスマス）はストラットフォード駅周辺のレストランをやっと見つけて、モヒトーとイギリス人の定番フィシュ＆チップスをいただきました。噂には聞いておりましたが、普通の揚げた白身魚とフライドポテトでした。ロンドンにいる！という雰囲気が美味しさを与えてくれている感じです。笑　ちょうどレストランのテレビにイギリスのコメディー番組が続けて放送されていて、旦那と見ながら笑って過ごしました。

Tonight, we managed to find one decent place for us to have a Christmas dinner. Since it was a cafe & bar of the small-business hotel, we ordered Fish & Chips and mojitos.The feelback about Fish & Chips? I should say, it just tastes like a regular fried-white fish with french fries, but it tastes better with a good atmosphere of being in London lol. While having dinner, we watched some British comedy-TV shows and were laughing a lot together.

ロンドンで他に美味しいものは？と聞くと、まずインドカレーを勧められます。驚いたことにロンドンにはインド系イギリス人又はインドからの移民の方が沢山暮らしています。日本食レストランで働いている人もインド系が比較的多い感じです。

What else is good to eat in London? I asked someone. First of all, many people recommended me to try some Indian curry in U.K. Surprisingly, you will see the largest minorities in U.K are British-Indians or Indians immigrated from his country. Even in a Japanese restaurant, it looks like there are more Indianish workers than Japanish staffs.

あと、ロンドンのクリスマス名物として有名なのがミンスパイです。写真の通り、小さなパイですが中にドライフルーツとひき肉が入っていて、液状の生クリームをかけて食べます。これは、凄く美味しいデザートでした。価格も三つで３ポンドくらいなので、シェアすると調度良い感じです。

In addition, the seasonal popular sweet in London is called Mince-pie. As you can see them in the picture, the size of each pie is small and has dried fruits and meets inside. You normally eat it with some whipping cream. It costs about 3 pounds for one dish, so it might be better to share it with your friends.

クリスマスが終わると、２６日からボクシング・デー（バーゲンセール）が始まります。ピカデリー駅の近くにあるほどんどのお店が５０％オフ（小さい字で“最大”笑）と書いた看板をお店の窓から下げています。もの凄く人が多くて、夜も歩くのが大変でした。

After Christmas, the huge discounted sales on each store will start on the 26th, Boxing Day. Around Piccadilly station,  most of the stores display a board saying 50% off (adding the small words "up to " lol). Since it was really crowded on the main street, we found in so hard to hang around even at night.

フランクフルトのクリスマス・マーケット2013(Christmas Market in Frankfurt)

ドイツに来て初めてのクリスマスがもう少しでやってきます！ワクワクします！１１月２７日からフランクフルトではレーマー広場でクリスマス・マーケットが始まりました。
(My very first Christmas in Germany will come soon! I am so excited!Since November 27th, the Christmas Market 2013 has been held at Romer square.)

写真のとおり、沢山の人がフランクフルトのクリスマス・マーケットを訪れています。ドイツ国内の住民だけではなく、ヨーロッパや世界各地から観光客でマーケットが賑わっています。

(As you can see in the picture, there are so many visitors. The market is amazingly filled with local people as well as tourists from all over the world.)

私のお気に入りはジャガイモのコロッケ（ドイツ語：Kartoffelpuffer)です。ドイツではアップルソースをつけて頂くみたいです。三つで４ユーロなので、お友達や家族で分ける方が沢山います。

(My favorite food is called "Kartoffelpuffer mit Apfelmuss", which is a potato pancake with apple source. It costs 4 Euro for 3 pieces, so people share them with their families and friends.)

そして、寒いドイツでクリスマス・マーケットを楽しむにはホットワイン（ドイツ語：gruhwein＝グリューワイン)が冷えた体を心まで温めてくれます。グリューワインは赤と白の両方が用意されています。お店によってはシナモンや他のスパイスを混ぜたり、子供用のノンアルコールグリューワインも販売されています。ワイン用のマグカップ代金はデポジットなので、カップを返却すると返金してくれますよ。一杯１～２ユーロくらいでお得ですし、カップをそのままお土産として持って帰る人もいます。(If you would love to enjoy the Christmas Market for a long time, "gruhwein=mulled wine" really helps you get warmer. There are both red and white for the gruhwein, and some street stalls prepare it adding cinnamon or other spices. Even kids can try non-alcohol gruhwein. In addition, the venders will give you the deposit for the cup back once you return it. One cup of gruhwein is about 1-2 Euro which I think is a decent price and you can take the special cup home as your suvenior)
