午前８時頃、目覚まし時計が鳴る前に起床。バルセロナに滞在中の六日間は、友人のお部屋を使わせて頂けることになりました。彼女の部屋は思い出の品や仲の良い友達と撮った写真そして旅行先のキーホルダーが沢山飾られていました。スペインも日本も女の子が大事にしているものって同じだなと感じました。どこに住んでいても、人々は思い出を大切にするみたいです。
(Around 8am, I had woken up before my alarm went off. During my 6day-stay in Barcelona, my girl friend let me use her own room. To me, the room was nicely decorated with her keepsakes such as pictures with her friends and the special key-chains from each destination in travel. I felt everyone treasures his/her memories no matter where you are coming from)
朝食の時間です。まず一品目はミルクを温めてシリアルを混ぜたものです。二品目はスペインのライスプリンに蜂蜜をかけたものです。私はミルクを温めずに毎日シリアルを食べていたので、新鮮な気分で友人風シリアルを食べました。（実はドイツに戻った次の日の朝はホットミルクでシリアルを食べていました。順応？笑）バルセロナの朝は結構冷えます。多分、そのせいで温めるのかも知れませんね。新しい発見ができて友人に感謝。美味しい朝ごはんでした。
(Now, it is time for breakfast. you can see here is a bowl of cereal with some hot milk. Since I normally have a bowl of cereal with cold milk at home each day, I was kind of excited about trying the same breakfast in a new way .(In fact, I found myself having a bowl of cereal with some hot milk after coming back to Germany.) then, my friend recommended some Spanish rice pudding with some honey. The pudding was really simple and not too sweet. Honestly, it gets quite cold in the morning in Barcelona, so I was glad to have such a warm breakfast.)
その後、友人がインターネットでスペインの新幹線の切符を購入。今日は、カタルーニャ州の東にあるジローナ（Girona)という古い町まで日帰り旅行です。通常は普通電車で一時間半かかりますが、この“renfe鉄道”に乗るとわずか３０分で到着します。チケットは往復で２４ユーロくらいしました。駅に到着して１０分ほど歩くと、古い建物が立ち並ぶ旧市街が現れます。
(After the nice breakfast, my friend looked up the time table for the bullet train, and booked tickets for us to visit Girona city, which is an old town in the east part of Catalunya. If we take a regular train, it should take about an hour and a half. But with "renfe", the Spanish railway service, it took us only 30min to get to Girona. The round trip costs around 24 Euro for each person and the Girona station was only 10min away from the main street with a bunch of old buildings.)
個人的に一番面白かったのはアラブバス（１２世紀に建てられたイスラム教のお風呂）です。この公衆浴場にはローマ風デザインが利用されています。北西アフリカのイスラム教教徒だったムーア人はこのお風呂が完成する前にはジロナ市から去ってしまったそうです。
(In the city of Girona, I personally found Arab Baths were intriguing and pretty.It is an imitation of Medieval Muslim baths. Arab Baths have Roman design and the Moors (Medieval Muslim inhabitants) had ended up leaving Giroma before these Baths were completed.)
まず脱衣所（Changing Room）があります。
(First, you can see the changing room)
下記の写真に描かれているように、水浴びをして休憩したり体を洗ったりします。
(Like the picture below, people used to rest or bath themselves in this room.)
その後はまず、冷蔵室（Cold Room）へ行くみたいです。想像すると、凄く寒そうですよね？（笑）多分、血の循環を良くするためだったのでしょうか？
(After that, they move to the cold room before actually taking a hot bath. Imagine how cold your body gets in the cold room! I wonder if this was to keep a good blood circulation in the short run?)
冷蔵室の後はやや暖かい部屋(Warm Room)に移動します。
(After cold room, finally you can go to the warm room.)
そして一番最後にサウナ状態のお部屋(Hot Room)で温かいお風呂を楽しむみたいです。
(At the end of the procedure, here is what people call "Hot Springs"nowadays.)
さて、もう一つ有名なのはジローナ大聖堂です。ここではドイツのスリル映画 「香水ある人殺しの物語」のロケ地として使用されました。この大聖堂は幅２２メートルで１１世紀のロマネスク様式で建設が始まり、１３世紀にはゴシック様式に変化しました。１８世紀に全ての建設が完了したそうです。凄く大きいですよね。煉瓦が白くて綺麗なので、何度もリバイズされたのだと思います。
(Now, here is another famous spot in Girona. It is called "La Cathedral de Girona". In fact, around this Cathedral, the German film, "Perfume:The Story of a Murderer" had been shot. Girona Cathedral is 22 meter wide and started to be build in 11th century with a style of Romanesque. However, the style has changed to Gothic architecture in 13th century. Around 18th century, finally people finished up this Cathedral. It looks really tall and huge compared with a size of people right? The white blocks used to build it are still clean, so I assume this has been rebuilt many times.)

あと、もう一点気になるのは（星を足した）カタロニアの国旗を屋根から掲げている家庭がちらほら見うけられることです。実は、今でもカタロニアの独立を願う人々が意思表示の為にし
いる行動みたいです。
(Another thing which I noticed was that there were a lot of houses with Catalonia flag with a star inside the blue triangle. It means even now some people have a strong hope for the independence of Catalonia and this is a part of their action towards the Spanish government.)
そして、町の至るとこに見られるこのマークは昔ギローナに住みついていたユダヤ人達のマークらしいです。
(Then, you can also find this interesting sign on the street. This is a sign of Jewish people who used to live in Girona.)
旧市街の散策は凄く楽しかった為、気づくと夕方になっていました。時間が過ぎるのは早いですね。せっかくだからアイボの旦那様に何かお土産を探しましょう。
(Oh it is already late afternoon! Time flies if you are having so much fun at the new city. Now, let me find a good souvenir for my husband.)
最初に見つけたのが、Tio de Nadal (El Caga Tio)です。これは、キリスト教の伝統で小さな丸太に子供達が顔を描きます。スペインのクリスマスシーズンが始まる１２月８日頃からこの、El Caga Tioにご飯をあげたり、寒くないように毛布をかけたりするそうです。クリスマスイブに木の一部を暖炉で燃やしたり、家庭によって現在は暖炉がないので歌を歌いながら棒でつつくらしいです。（笑）可笑しいですね。お土産には黄色のツツキ棒がすでに付いています。
(Then, I saw some of "Tio De Nadal" displayed at the show window. This is one of Spanish traditional toy for Children during the Christmas season. Every year when the Christmas season starts, children draw a nice face on a piece of wood and feed him like a real person. They even give him a blanket not to feel cold in winter. Now, on the day of Christmas eve some families use a part of Tio De Nadal to make fire and children sing a Christmas song while hitting this Tio with a stick. lol. This tradition sounds pretty weird lol But as a souvenir, it should be one of the good items.)
もう一つがEl Carganarです。このお人形さんは伝統的なカタロニアの赤い帽子を着て、ご覧の通りウンチをしています。地球に栄養素を寄付しているそうですよ～。笑
(Another one is called "El Carganar" which is a doll wearing Catalonia`s traditional red hat. As you can see, they help the earth to have more nutrition lol)
さて、電車に乗り今夜も我が家（スペイン人の友人宅）へ帰ってきました。夕食はツナサラダ、ブドウ、白パンにイベリコハムとチーズです。今日一日私と過ごしてくれてありがとう。
(Thank you very much for my friend who spent the whole day with me in Girona. Around 9pm, we got home and had some light dinner, tuna salad, bread and fresh grapes.)
